There Is a Myth of a Bond Girl's Death in "Goldfinger"

In the film "Goldfinger", James Bond discovers that his girlfriend, Jill Masterson, has died after being covered in gold paint. At the time the film was made, there was a common misconception that covering the entire body in paint could cause death by preventing breathing through the skin. However, in reality, a person receives the vast majority of their oxygen through their nose and mouth, so covering the skin in paint would not cause suffocation.
In the movie, the actress was painted gold, but the skin under her thong was left untouched to avoid the potential risk of asphyxia. This is a technique used by dancers who paint their bodies. Nevertheless, there may be other dangers associated with body paint, such as the toxins contained in it or the fact that it can clog pores, leading to overheating of the body.
